Emma Eccles Jones Medical Research Building, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah (2003).
This is a soil nail excavation to a depth of 44 feet, cut largely in clean sands with much of the face being near-vertical. We used a simple splining technique to stabilize the face during construction.
Bear Lake State Park Marina, Garden City, Utah (1993)
To facilitate growing needs, a new marina for Bear Lake was designed by GDS staff members for the State of Utah. Designed and constructed just prior to our present company organization, the same geotechnical team responsible for this facility and other earth structures at Bear Lake are now with GDS. We have also been responsible for design of a small private marina on the lake as well as designs and studies for other facilities.
